About Us

True peace and happiness come from our relationship with God, His Word, and each other

We are proud to serve a wide range of ages and tastes by offering Sunday worship services with uplifting and practical messages, tools that help enrich our lives spiritually, and community outreach programs that help us to connect and impact our neighbors in a positive way.

Our doors are open to you!

We gather to worship by lifting our minds and hearts together to our Lord Jesus Christ. Our messages are clear and designed to inspire positive change, with practical applications for everyday life. We offer a blend of contemporary and traditional worship styles and music, and we provide Sunday school programs for children and teens.

We provide tools for life to help you grow spiritually and build life-enriching relationships. Through study groups and classes, there are opportunities to learn and grow together. Our youth programs and activities give children a safe and positive place to have fun while learning important values. We also offer resources to help strengthen marriages and families. Contact us for more information about any of these opportunities.

We are committed to connecting people through activities and service. Our outreach programs give us opportunities to show love to our neighbors, both near and far. We also offer family-oriented activities, events, and trips that bring people together and strengthen our sense of community.

Oak Arbor Church is a member of the New Church.

The New Church is a Christian community of people who come together in devotion to the Lord God Jesus Christ and His Word. Our aim is to connect God and your spiritual life to your daily life and decisions. We exhibit a visible commitment to your spiritual growth by helping you explore the Bible for its internal meaning, which has direct applications for both our lives here on earth as well as our future heavenly lives, and by connecting you with others on their own journey.

Our Building

Our building was dedicated on September 30th, 2000, as a house of worship. Our deepest hope is that we will continue to serve the Lord through this lovely facility, and may it always be a place that welcomes the broader community and supports its useful activities. More deeply, may it be a place where the Lord can be found, where truth is loved and taught, and where people are brought together to comfort, support, and enjoy one another in Him.

The front walkway just outside the main church doors has the letters Alpha and Omega set into the stone tiles. This pairing of the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet is symbolic of the Lord's infinite nature, of the fact that He is present in all things from first to last (Revelation 1).

We have three entryway doors you will pass through as you enter our sanctuary.

Over the doors are the Lord’s words: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). The way reminds us that the Lord calls us to change and choose to follow Him. The truth is what we come to understand and love, as it brings order and blessing to life. Life is found not just in knowing truth, but in living it, discovering that the Lord is the power, joy, and goodness within all we do. Entering this “third door” is our deepest response to Him.

The carvings reflect this journey: acorns on the ground show spiritual potential; sprouting acorns show growing understanding; and full branches with mature seeds show the fruitfulness that comes from living the truth and acknowledging the Lord.

Each doorway also allows more light. At first, we see little, but as we follow the Lord more closely, we gain greater insight and wisdom. Living His truth brings the greatest light and clearest vision of Him.

The magnificent altar rock was found under the oak trees just southwest of the building. Some 11-15,000 years ago, a great blanket of glacial ice receded from this area, leaving in its wake a sculpted landscape - lakes, hills, and valleys, and debris from the far north, including our rock. Our rock probably had its birth (and countless metamorphic rebirths) in the Canadian Shield, a mass of bedrock that goes back some 4 billion years!

When we look at the world around us, nothing compares to antiquity with rocks. This is one reason why the Word associates rocks with the Lord's eternal existence, His abiding love and presence, and His timeless truth. Our world changes, our lives change, our resolves come and go, but He remains constant. He is the Rock of our salvation!

Our altar stone is unhewn. It has not been shaped in any way by human hands. This is our way of respecting the fact that we need to honor His Word as He gives it, not changing the picture of Him it gives us, not reshaping its truth to fit our wishes, but rather seeking to understand it and live it.

Our chancel furniture was all handcrafted for our church. There are many symbols of God from the Old and New Testaments carved into the wooden furniture, such as a lamb, a lion, and a vine. The doves on the baptism font represent innocence, and the 7 lampstands around our altar are a reference to the seven golden lampstands that surrounded the "One" (Revelation 1)
